On July 8, 2026, the National Office for Science and Technology Awards officially released the list of winners of the 2025 National Science and Technology Awards. The project "Research and Development of New Materials for Dental/Maxillofacial Restoration and Construction of Their Clinical Technology System", which was led by Peking University and jointly undertaken by seven institutions including IMEIK Technology Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "IMEIK") as major completion units, was awarded the Second Prize of the 2025 National Science and Technology Progress Award. Ms. Jian Jun, Chairwoman of IMEIK was among the major contributors and jointly received this national science and technology honor.
The "National Science and Technology Award" is the highest-level national science and technology award established by the State Council. It is the most prestigious, authoritative, and influential official science and technology award in China, representing the highest honor system for commending excellence and encouraging innovation in the country's science and technology sector. According to official data, the 2025 National Science and Technology Awards, after multiple rounds of formal review, initial expert evaluation, re-evaluation, final deliberation, and public notification, resulted in the selection of 258 award-winning projects and 11 outstanding scientific and technological experts.
The "Regulations on the National Science and Technology Awards" stipulate that "the National Science and Technology Progress Award is granted to individuals and organizations that have completed and applied innovative scientific and technological achievements, making outstanding contributions to the advancement of science and technology and to economic and social development." Within this award-winning project for the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, two of Imeik's achievements — "cross-linked sodium hyaluronate gel containing poly(L-lactic acid-co-ethylene glycol) copolymer microspheres" (Yiguang Angel and other product series) and "medical cross-linked sodium hyaluronate gel containing polyvinyl alcohol gel microspheres" (Gukola) — demonstrated notable technological innovation and significant market application value in the field of soft tissue repair and regeneration.
Guided by this national-level science and technology award, IMEIK will continue to increase R&D investment, focus on core tracks such as regenerative medicine, biomedical materials, and innovative devices and pharmaceuticals for skin and soft tissue repair, further deepen industry-academia-research collaborative innovation, promote the generation and translation of more scientific and technological achievements, and persistently contribute to the high-level self-reliance and self-strengthening of Chinese biomedical materials science and technology.
